We engage in various activities including youth programs, assisting returning service members, and advocating for veterans in need. How to Join or Renew
You can mail or drop off your application at Springfield Post 176, 6520 Amherst Avenue, Springfield, VA 22150. Social quarters are open daily from early afternoon until at least 9 pm. Dues are $40 per year. For convenience, renew online at www.legion.org/renew.
Access Your DD214 and Military Records
You can obtain your DD214 and other military records at the National Archives: Standard Form 180.
Eligibility Information
If you served honorably for at least one day of active duty, you are eligible to join. Active duty, Reserves, and National Guard members are also welcome. U.S. Merchant Marine eligibility is restricted to December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946 (WWII). For further details on eligibility, visit Legion Membership FAQ.
