Post 176 Service Officer

Veterans don’t have to stand alone in the in their battle for benefits and medical care. Our Post 176 Service Officer, Ali Nikolai, will help veterans and family members weed through the paperwork and bureaucracy of government in order to get the benefits and medical care deserved.  They offer free advice and guidance for veterans who need the services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

In addition to our Post 176 Service Officer, there is also the Virginia Department of Veterans’ Services to assist with claims.  They provide guidance on Veterans’ benefits including Disability for Wounded Warriors, Dependency & Indemnity Compensation for children, educational benefits for spouses, VA Mortgages, Serviceman’s Group Life Insurance, and information on tax exemptions for veterans with 100% disability.  You can phone or visit them at the following locations:

Please bring your DD214 with you to establish your eligibility.

Your DD214 and other military records are available from:

All Veterans should complete Form 10-10 EZ Application for VA Health Care.  This form can be completed at these office locations.  The completed form would then be submitted by the veteran with a copy of the DD214 and in person at a VA Facility such as the Alexandria Community Clinic or DC VA Hospital.  The Alexandria Clinic is located on the 1st floor in the Sunrise Pavilion of the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
